Get a Grip...
Golden Eagle Fans... listen up.
The rumors that are floating their way north from Hattiesburg to Jackson about Jeff Bower, the best coach in USM history being fired, are ridiculous. Border line lunacy to be honest with you... and when I heard them the first time... I literally laughed out loud.
Now I'm not saying that people aren't putting them out there - and that the rumors aren't swirling - because they are... it's just a joke that anyone in their right mind would think he doesn't deserve to be the Head Coach there after this season.
His starting quarterback went down, his defensive coordinator had a re-curence of cancer, and thru it all they are 5 and 5 and still with striking distance of a bowl. And oh by the way, he's lead them to 13 consecutive winning seasons. Not bad to have one .500 year sprinkled in there, wouldn't you agree?

Remember the Titans
What is up Sports Fans?
The Playoffs have arrived for most this week... and are just around the corner if you play public 1-A and 5-A ball! But if you play private ball, or roll in the 2A, 3A, or 4A world... then your season starts for real Friday night!
The story of the year in my opinion is the Ridgeland Titans, man are they fun to watch and do they ever know the definition of "team." Ridgeland hosts Koscuisko in our SONIC Game of the Week this Friday night! Don't let their 6 and 4 record fool you... the Whippets of Koscuisko beat Northwest Rankin the first week of the season by 3 touchdowns and have a good mix of talent. But Ridgeland is on a roll, plain and simple. After beating Vicksburg in overtime to finish the regular season undefeated for the first time in school history at 10-0, they now turn their attention to running the table in the post-season! If they do, the magical ride will continue! And don't forget this... "Little Man" B.J. Lee is back from his separated shoulder that sidelined him a week ago, and he'll play in this one!
