The rumors that are floating their way north from Hattiesburg to Jackson about Jeff Bower, the best coach in USM history being fired, are ridiculous. Border line lunacy to be honest with you... and when I heard them the first time... I literally laughed out loud.

Now I'm not saying that people aren't putting them out there - and that the rumors aren't swirling - because they are... it's just a joke that anyone in their right mind would think he doesn't deserve to be the Head Coach there after this season.

His starting quarterback went down, his defensive coordinator had a re-curence of cancer, and thru it all they are 5 and 5 and still with striking distance of a bowl. And oh by the way, he's lead them to 13 consecutive winning seasons. Not bad to have one .500 year sprinkled in there, wouldn't you agree?
